Belief isn’t truly belief if it’s only exhibited during moments of comfort & convenience. The apostles in John 14 were recently informed of the Messiah’s pending departure. One could imagine the strain on their faith. However, these are the moments that solidify & confirm our faith.
Christians are called to exhibit the same behavior in the text. While dismay & discomfort are expected, we must endure the adversity & rest on the assurances of Christ.
While difficulties are to be expected, the benefits of our belief in God will overcome the opposition.
