In the corporate sector, most enjoy an occupation where “work doesn’t come home” with them. However, in the realm of education, homework is a consistent component. Homework is essential to success in academics. Its purpose is to cultivate comprehension & retention of the various subjects.
Such was the case with Israel in Joshua 24, after hearing Joshua’s dissertation concerning their assimulated faith in Jehovah. They needed to respond to God’s call through Joshua. In order to do this efficiently, they needed time to meditate on their allegiance to God.
Such is the case with the body of Christ. Once worship has concluded, we’re called to carry Christ home, to ensure we retain & comprehend Jehovah.
