"Multitasking"
  • Vision is invaluable to the child of God. However, vision doesn't transform into reality without execution. Anyone can dream, but executing the dream & vision is easier said than done.

  • A common aspect of any occupation is one's job description. In this, the individual is clarified as to what expected of them. In contrast, this description creates a variance between what's expected versus what the individuals are willing to oblige.

  • We've all been there on the job… You've been asked to perform a task that sits outside of your job title & description. What's the immediate response? "I'm not doing that! That's not in my job description!"

  • In the case of Nehemiah & Judah, many were asked to perform tasks outside of their normal “job description”. In addition, they were asked to multitask in order to fulfill the reality of Judah's construction & restoration.

  • As was the case then, the same applies to us: To fulfill the vision of God, all at different times must multitask & perform outside of their own expectations. Often times, the need to multitask occurs when opposition arises against the vision of God.

  • This passage is designed to instill endurance in Christ when facing opposition at the workplace.
