Periodically the topic of authority arises within one’s home. All parties make their claims; the husband & father, “God positioned me as the head.” The wife & mother, “You may have the position but I’m the true manager of our home.” The child, “I’m not a little kid anymore. I should be able to make my own decisions.”
While these statements have their place, all in the home must never neglect the true authority & head of the believer’s home: Jesus Christ. All have their position, role & function within the home but none supercede the God’s sovereignty.
This is what Paul sought to establish in Ephesians 6 to the church at Ephesus. For the body of Christ if we seek true harmony in our homes we must consult Christ, the head of our lives.
