"A Seat for the Savior" - Luke 19:35-40
- The seat of prestige, honor, power & recognition is often coveted by most. Everyone wants to call the shots. All want the attention & notoriety. Most desire the wealth & fame, but few consider the cost of sitting in that seat. In the case of Christ, the Messiah's at the pinnacle of His ministry.
- Following the resurrection of Lazarus, His stardom was at its peak! Everyone knew His name, you couldn't travel anywhere without hearing Jesus of Nazareth, all where flocking to hear & witness His next act.
- In our text however, Christ wouldn't commit an act but the follow acts from the multitudes would solidify His status as King of the Jews & Messiah of the great prophesies. While all seemed well, the subtle undercurrent of opposition lurks in the background. Under the Spirit's influence, the text emphasizes the following…
- P1: "A Seat of Prophesy" (v.35,36)
- P2: "A Seat of Praise" (v.37,38)
- P3: "A Seat of Persecution" (v.39,40)
